Houthi forces: Saudi artillery kills civilian
The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen also said it bombed a training camp used by the Iran-backed forces.
Houthi forces reported casualties due to Saudi heavy weapon fire today.
The Houthi-affiliated Yemen News Agency, aka SABA, reported that the “Saudi enemy” fired artillery shells at a border area of the Sa’dah province. One civilian was killed and three people were injured in the incident, the report said.
Meanwhile, the Saudi-led military coalition in Yemen said today that it bombed a Houthi training site in the embattled Marib province, killing 60 fighters, the Saudi news outlet Al-Arabiya reported.
The Yemeni civil war began in 2014 between the internationally recognized government of President Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi and the Houthi forces. A Saudi-led military coalition backs the government, while the Houthis are supported by Iran. The war is often described as a proxy war between Saudi Arabia and Iran. Yemen also had a civil war in 1994 between the north and south. The Houthi forces are predominantly Zaidi Shiites, while the rest of the country is predominantly Sunni Muslim.
