US sells Oman $70 million worth of TOW antitank missiles
The Biden administration advanced the sale proposal even as Yemen's Houthis have engaged in peace talks in Saudi Arabia last month.
WASHINGTON — The Biden administration notified Congress on Tuesday of a plan to sell $70 million worth of TOW 2B anti-tank missiles to Oman.
The sale, which would include 301 optically guided TOW missiles in addition to US contractor support, “will not alter the basic military balance in the region,” the US State Department said in a press release.
The primary contractor will be Raytheon Missile and Defense, based in Tucson, Ariz.
“There are no known offset agreements proposed in connection with this potential sale,” the State Department’s press release read.
