'Do not test our will,' Iran FM Araghchi warns Israel ahead of Saudi Arabia visit
Iran's foreign minister began a regional tour as Tehran prepared for a possible Israeli strike, with its Revolutionary Guard saying it had a wide range of plans in store for retaliation.
TEHRAN — Any Israeli attack on Iranian infrastructure will be met with a "more severe and powerful counterattack," Iran's foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, warned on Tuesday, according to the state-run IRNA news agency.
The reaction came as Israel is reportedly mulling the possibility of a strike on Iran in response to the Islamic Republic's missile salvo last week. Tehran's attack was retaliation for the killings of Lebanese Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh and several senior Iranian commanders.
"Do not test our will," Araghchi warned Israeli officials as he addressed a conference in Tehran dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, which honored Hamas for its deadly assault on Israeli territories a year on.
Earlier on the anniversary of the Oct. 7 attacks, Iran's Foreign Ministry in a statement renewed its praise for Hamas and its pledge of support for the Palestinian cause until "a Palestinian state is founded with Jerusalem as its capital."
