Looking for a standout piece of furniture? In just a week, Downtown Design Riyadh — the kingdom’s inaugural design fair — will bring together dozens of local and international designers in the trendy JAX District, offering a curated selection of contemporary and limited-edition pieces.
Organized by the Art Dubai Group in partnership with the Architecture and Design Commission of the Ministry of Culture, the fair marks a milestone for Saudi Arabia’s expanding design scene. It arrives amid a boom in luxury real estate and landmark developments, fueling demand for high-end interiors across the country.
“We are witnessing a remarkable shift in the Saudi design industry, with the pace of development and integration of high-caliber design in hospitality as well as everyday life,” Mette Degn-Christensen, director of Downtown Design, told Al-Monitor. “Our goal for the Downtown Design Riyadh was always to create a fair for Saudi Arabia, in Riyadh; to build a platform born from the new demand for contemporary and quality design, for and in its environment, very much relating to local context and the sophisticated audiences.”
The fair caters to design collectors, professionals and industry leaders, offering access to global design brands while spotlighting homegrown talent. Highlights include Tom Dixon, Brokis and Articolo lighting via Huda Lighting; Scandinavian furniture from Audo Copenhagen, GUBI, and &Tradition by The Bowery Company; Scarlet Splendour's brass works by Richard Hutten; a Cosentino installation by Kuwait’s Babnimnim Studio; and from Saudi Arabia, Teeb Made’s culturally rooted designs and the Designed in Saudi initiative.

This new hidden gem of French gastronomy is tucked inside Cafe Boulud at the Four Seasons Riyadh. Among the most exclusive dinners in the city, the 10-seat chef’s table offers an eight-course culinary journey curated by Chef Thierry Motsch, under the supervision of Chef Daniel Boulud. The menu blends classic French cuisine with local influences, all served with a front-row view of the open kitchen, where guests can watch the dishes come to life before they reach the table.
