Despite Red Sea instability since late 2023, with Houthi attacks forcing ships to avoid the Suez Canal, Egypt’s economic zone on the waterway reported record revenues in the last fiscal year, buoyed by Gulf and Chinese investment in textiles, clean energy and manufacturing. Meanwhile, KFC is set to return to Turkey under a new franchise deal by the end of 2025.
