This week, Yemen returned to center stage of Gulf diplomacy as the Southern Transitional Council's advances in the south tested regional coordination. Alongside this, Saudi Arabia and Oman stepped up political and security consultations; Riyadh marked progress in naval modernization with the launch of a new frigate and Gulf states pressed ahead with major infrastructure, energy and technology investments despite rising regional tensions.
