Lebanese President Michel Aoun visited Qatar on Monday.

Aoun met Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani in the capital, Doha. The two discussed bilateral relations, and Thani expressed Qatar’s “readiness to assist” Lebanon, Aoun’s office said in a series of tweets.

The two leaders also discussed the ongoing rift between Lebanon and other Gulf states, according to Aoun.

“We agreed that this stage requires the Arab countries to stand by Lebanon and on the necessity to overcome any disorder inflicted upon these relations,” Aoun tweeted.
