Turkish foreign minister meets Iranian president in Tehran

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said there is “no ceiling for elevation of ties with Turkey.”

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu visited Iran today where he had a series of reportedly friendly meetings with Iranian officials.

Cavusoglu met his Iranian counterpart, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, in Tehran. The two discussed economic relations, their shared border, and developments in the Levant, Caucus and Afghanistan, Iran’s official Islamic Republic News Agency reported.

Amir-Abdollahian called the meeting “friendly and sincere.”

“Iran sees no ceiling for elevation of ties with Turkey,” he tweeted.
