Israeli and Palestinian civilians were injured in an exchange of fire near the Gaza Strip today.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said a “shooting attack” from northern Gaza injured an Israeli civilian. Israeli tanks struck several Hamas military posts in response, the IDF said on Twitter.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) said that Israeli artillery fire hit two areas in northern Gaza: one near Beit Lahya and the other near Beit Hanoun. Three farmers who were working their land near the Gaza security wall were injured, the PA’s WAFA news agency reported.

The Israeli civilian was a contractor working for the Israeli Ministry of Defense on maintenance of the security wall, according to Israeli media outlets.
