Three people were killed at a Hamas funeral in a refugee camp in Lebanon yesterday, according to the Palestinian Islamist group.

The three men died when fighters affiliated with the rival Fatah group opened fire on a funeral procession in the Burj al-Shemali camp in southern Lebanon. Another 10 people were injured in the attack. The funeral was for a Hamas member, the Hamas-affiliated Safa news outlet reported.

The incident followed a Dec. 10 explosion at a Hamas building in the camp, which hosts Palestinian refugees. The funeral was for one of the victims of the explosion.

Hamas is a Palestinian Islamist political and military organization. It controls the Gaza Strip internally, while the internationally recognized Palestinian Authority administers the West Bank along with the Israeli military. Fatah, the largest political faction within the Palestinian Authority, denied any role in the shooting, Reuters reported.
