Airlines across the globe faced continued disruption Tuesday as many carriers suspended flights to the Middle East amid the Iran-Israel war, including to key transit hubs like Doha and Dubai.

Israel and Iran have been trading missile strikes since June 13, when Israel launched an attack on Iran, claiming it was necessary to prevent Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon. The US joined the war on Saturday and bombed three key nuclear sites in Iran. Iran responded by firing missiles at the US Al-Udeid Air Base in Qatar.

President Donald Trump announced a ceasefire between the two countries going into effect early Tuesday morning but amid reports of ceasefire violations, airlines continued to announce flight cancellations on Tuesday.

A spokesperson at Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air told Reuters Tuesday that it had suspended flights to and from the UAE until June 30, adding, “We will keep you informed as the situation evolves.” Its UAE subsidiary, Wizz Air Abu Dhabi, also canceled flights. The airline stated that it had to divert many of its flights to other airports Monday evening following the closure of multiple airspaces due to the Iranian strikes on the US military base in Qatar.
