World Liberty Financial, the cryptocurrency venture associated with former President Donald Trump’s family, has secured a $100 million investment from the little-known UAE-based Aqua 1 Foundation, the two organizations announced Thursday.
The deal marks the second investment from a Middle Eastern firm in the platform, with Aqua 1 purchasing tokens issued by World Liberty Financial. The decentralized finance venture is majority-owned by a company affiliated with the Trump Organization. In May, MGX, a tech investment firm backed by an Abu Dhabi sovereign wealth fund, also bought into the tokens.
In a statement, Aqua 1 Foundation said the investment was intended “to help accelerate the creation of a blockchain-powered financial ecosystem centered on blockchain development, Real World Asset (RWA) tokenization and stablecoin integration, aiming to set new benchmarks for global capital efficiency.”
The $100 million injection will make Aqua 1 the largest individual investor in World Liberty, surpassing crypto billionaire and Tron founder Justin Sun, who is also an adviser for the Trump-affiliated project.
