WASHINGTON — The world’s power players will converge next week in New York City, where the nearly two-year war in the Gaza Strip is set to dominate the agenda at this year's UN General Assembly summit.  

As the United Nations wrestles with divisions over Gaza, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is expected to deliver a fiery defense of his country and a rejection of Palestinian statehood that has gained sweeping support at the world body. With leaders including US President Donald Trump and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also in the lineup of speakers, here’s what to expect.
