ANKARA — Turkish intelligence chief Ibrahim Kalin discussed the Gaza ceasefire process with his Egyptian counterpart, Hassan Mahmoud Rashad, as well as Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Cairo on Tuesday, a Turkish security source told Al-Monitor.

The three countries serve as mediators between Hamas and Israel, following the signing of US President Donald Trump’s 20-point peace plan in October.

The officials discussed “moving to the second phase of the ceasefire agreement and intensifying joint efforts in coordination with the United States amid increasing Israeli violations in Gaza,” the source said.

Details: The meeting comes as mediators are seeking to find a compromise between Hamas and Israel over the plight of militants from the group stuck in tunnels in Gaza.
