TEL AVIV — The US-Iran agreement announced Sunday by President Donald Trump has triggered a wave of criticism from supporters of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu directed at the American president, who until recently was widely regarded as a political ally and strategic asset.

In social media posts Monday morning, Netanyahu supporters lashed out at Trump and his advisers over the deal negotiated with Tehran. Yinon Magal of the right-wing Channel 14 wrote on X, “Trump came out a loser.” He described US envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff as “those two Jewish guys … who were bought off with a huge amount of money and sold out their brothers in Israel,” and referred to Vice President JD Vance as “scum.”

According to Iranian and Pakistani sources cited in US media reports, the agreement includes a ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah. However, Israeli public broadcaster Kan reported Monday that when Trump called Netanyahu to brief him on the agreement, Netanyahu said Israel would not consider itself bound by the Lebanon-related provisions.
