Flights continue in Saudi Arabia despite Houthi attacks, airspace threats
Overnight attacks on King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jazan and Najran International Airport damaged facilities and wounded three people.
Flights continued in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday despite overnight Houthi attacks on two southern airports, as the Iran-backed rebels renewed their warning to international airlines to avoid the kingdom’s airspace.
What happened: Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation said Tuesday that attacks on King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Jazan and Najran International Airport on Monday evening damaged facilities and wounded three people.
The authority said emergency teams responded immediately and that it was assessing damage and taking measures to protect passengers and staff.
King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Airport, in the southern Red Sea city of Jazan, listed eight flights for Tuesday afternoon and evening beginning in the midafternoon local time. No arrivals or departures were scheduled at Najran International Airport on Tuesday, according to its website.
