
Retired admiral Amihai Ayalon is a former commander of the Israeli navy. He has also served as director of the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) and as a Knesset member and cabinet minister for the Israeli Labor Party. Ayalon is a cofounder of the non-partisan Israeli organization Blue White Future as well as cofounder, with Sari Nuseibeh, of The People's Voice peace initiative. Ayalon is currently a senior research fellow at the Israeli Democracy Institute.
